Russel Pond is a great place for our first trip...close to home....nice site with a great area to bike ride....pond...lake to kayak and great camp site. No electric hook-up....water close by....plenty of sun for solar panel.

The solar panel really did a great job maintaining our batteries and charging our phones etc. Propane ran the Fridge...stove no problem for the week and the next trip as well. Didn't use the hot water heater...that is the only other thing run by propane while not connected to shore power.
Since my last entry we have gone to VT and picked up our Travel Trailer an R POD 179 by Forest River. Brought her home to our local storage area only about 5 minutes from home and been on our first two trips....each around 6-7 days. Because of Covid 19 our original plans to go to Canada have been put off until next year...hopefully.

Made it back safe and sound......now getting ready for first trip close to home at Russel Pond...in the White Mountain National Forest.

Want to make a quick note that we are getting snow this day....May 9th 2020.....be gone before the day is out but just saying ... also as the whole world knows we are all at home because of the coronavirus. Because of that...our new travel plans are on hold.....our R-POD has been ordered via our Burlington VT dealer...and would have been completed and delivered by now but the factory has been shut down for over a month....just now talking about a gradual start-up. Travel Trailer will be delivered ??? still do not know. Reservations are still in place throughout our planned trip to Canada...Maine and back to the White Mts. but not sure if they will remain.....getting close. If they do open up....will we have our Travel Trailer??

Will keep this site posted......

Making some progress on the ship Virginia
built in 1819!! Now we have a home for her as I continue making progress. Put a new mantel over our new wood stove.....looking good so far!!

Time and changes just keep on flying by!! Our transition back to living ashore has been completed via Colombia and New Hampshire minus any boat!! Daniel has completed 4th grade at New Cambridge School in Floridablanca, Colombia.....great experience and school!! Now in 5th grade at Thornton Central School up here in the White Mountains!! Now our travels are around his school schedule.....and via land!!

Time to get used to four seasons and making the most of each!! Beautiful country up here ... no traffic lights in Thornton...one on the way out to 93 in Campton!!

I have been working on the Wooden Model Ship "Virginia" built in 1819 During this period the United States began to build these small fore and aft rigged sailing "schooners". They were very fast and elegant at the time and because of this they were lightly armed and used for pursuit and intercepting tasks as a coastguard boat!! I have a long way to go...but enjoy working at it little by little!!

This could be the one......
