We had great weather all the way across......5-10 knots of wind.....could have been more consistent ....seas less than 1 foot.

these guys were with us more than not.....

getting close and the seas are like glass.....
Daniel was great as usual.....
must be Clearwater Beach...around 2 P.M, It was about 29...30 hours from leaving Carabelle to dropping anchor in the ICW just inside Clearwater Pass.

We really liked the town of Apalachicola and the folk's at the C-Quarters Marina were great.....they gave Daniel a new fishing pole and set Elizabeth up with a new lure etc. It is time to leave only after one night since we have a nice weather window to head across the Gulf of Mexico to Clearwater!!

leaving Carabelle headed to the East Pass.....
sunset as we are heading across Gulf.....

By now we have safety arrived in Bradenton, FL at the Twin Dolphin Marina. I am going to start up-dating from where we left off in Apalachicola. Sorry for those following that it isn't more timely.....there are many reasons for that...not the least of which was lack of good wifi.

fishing boats behind us at Apalachicola Marina.....
 on our way to Carabelle......

we made it to Carabelle for the boat parade......

We are now in Apalachicola Marina. The trip across the Panhandle has been a good one. Many neat places to stop and visit...great  people and some great sailing areas both offshore and in the bays.

 at one of our anchorages.....
the Blue Angels were practicing several days as we went along....
all eyes on us....

another anchorage...another adult drink in the cockpit.....

We finally left Turner and are on our way down Mobile Bay and the Panhandle of Florida. Four of us left together....a M/V from Toronto, CA another IP-32 footer from Chicago and a 40 ft Beneteau from Illinois. (they plan to return to Turner and head to Florida after the Holidays.) The work done at Turner was very good and the price was reasonable...glad we had the work done while there. It also gives us more confidence that the boat is in good shape.....at least for the foreseeable future!! It's a boat right!!!

very close to the Marina..
Daniel loves the playground
so does Mom!!
Bill and Marsha in their Beneteau heading down Mobile Bay...
trying to find our first anchorage after leaving Turner Marine....a little fog!!!

We are still in Mobile....Turner Marine.....weather certainly could be better....but the main reason we are still here is that we have decided to get some work done on the boat here rather than waiting until we get to Bradenton. We new the bow chainplate may eventually need to be replaced....had spoken with folk's at Island Packet and Snead Boat Works in Palmetto about it. We have decided to take care of it here...before we head further and sail in open waters....after that a bunch of smaller stuff that needs to be taken care of....folk's here have been good to work with....and weather permitting the work should be completed by weeks end!!

 on the hard...

lots of sailboats on the Dog River for sure....

 looking out at Mobile Bay.....
 that's Sea Fever coming in....

Since leaving Demopolis we have anchored or rafted up for the past four nights.....we have had three beautiful spots to anchor and nice weather so it made for some nice travelling!! After a early start just after sunrise and about 50 miles we finally are in salt water and Mobile Bay.....we made it to the Gulf!!!
Mobile is a very busy port.....we are travelling through on a Sunday.....

 two Navy boats tied up...

this guy was flying around the harbor....some kind of security??

this ship was pushing some water down the Bay...went buy us just as we were turning into the channel to Dog River and Turner Marine....
As you continue south the river changes as well as the wildlife you may encounter!!

Another cold front has chased us down. We are in Pirates Cove Marina in Alabama. Will stay hear until Sunday is what it looks like now. The low this morning was in low to mid 30's. Good to be in the marina where can plug in and run the heat. Tonight is going to be colder....may get down to 28 or so. Day time temps will get up to high 50's and Sunday 60 or so. Winds are getting up to 25-30 when gusting. Looks like there is a 8 or 10 degree difference when we hit Mobil.....more in Florida....
Will be anchoring out more often as we go from here......
