Below I added some pictures from Newport Harbor and surrounding area that my Dad took during several of his recent trips to the area. One of the trips he actually was on board Weatherly and had a great sail. You can spend a number of seasons sailing Narragansett Bay and still not cover it all. The sailing history of the area goes without saying. It was really special when the America's Cup was being held out of Newport. These are some shots of several 12 Meters and the Herreshoff museum.
Taken while underway!!
Fort Adams in the background...coming back in from sail on 12!!
Out with the old and in with the new fuel tank. The original tank developed a small leak. It was difficult to get out...had to cut it. In order to make life easier the new one was made slightly smaller so nothing had to be cut etc. to get in properly. We only lost about a half gallon of fuel capacity in the end. Mattson, the company that made the new tank for us out of Tampa was great. I would highly recommend them.
