I have been working on the Wooden Model Ship "Virginia" built in 1819 During this period the United States began to build these small fore and aft rigged sailing "schooners". They were very fast and elegant at the time and because of this they were lightly armed and used for pursuit and intercepting tasks as a coastguard boat!! I have a long way to go...but enjoy working at it little by little!!
Working on the keel and frames

 assembling the deck...
Lining the first layer of the deck.....
heating some of the planks made the job much easier....

slowly will look more and more like the plans....
Brisa was on the market all of a few hours before we got a call asking about her and requesting a visit to see her at the yard. I had no idea that I would not only prepare her for sale....paint bottom...remove all of our gear etc. etc. but also be able to still be in Florida to get an offer and actual make the sale. While I was at the yard there were many other boats and owners only hoping to be able to sell and move on to the next adventure!! We had a good boat...well maintained...equipped...sought after cruising boat....and competitively...appropriately priced...oh yea...a little luck as well!! Like I said...we are off to the next adventure.....and yes we will get another sail boat in the not to distant future!! We all love to sail and love being around and on the water!! Stay tuned....
Last stages of saying good bye!!
Finished the bottom...now yard moving Brisa out to more open space for Sea trial etc, This rig really was impressive...yard can pack these boats side by side without any problem. Drive it via remote control.

During Daniel's last school break we decided to take a trip for a week or so to both Barichara and Giron, Santander, Colombia. We stayed in a wonderful Hotel with great owners who were very welcoming during our stay. We used this as our base and made day trips to Giron and Guane. This is a very popular tourist area for both Colombians and foreigners as they explore Colombia. Giron is especially popular for it's extreme sports...rafting....sky gliding....mountain biking etc.
this is at a local park in Giron...
it was obvious this guy was used to the parks visitors...
these were everywhere....

Our room was on the right...

We took a local bus a few miles down the moutain side to a small town called Guane...this was a museum off the town center we checked out while there...

We had a great time while at my sisters place on Newfound Lake.......beautiful area. After we left Pam's we headed up to North Conway New Hampshire.

Here we are visiting one of my best friends Jay and his wife Carol. They have a great home in North Weymouth which is an easy walk to a beach with a great view of Boston Harbor and the outer islands as you enter from the Atlantic.

We have done some travelling since we left Brisa on the hard in Florida so I thought I would continue along via our blog!! It has been awhile...again....so enjoy the pictures.

Along the coast of Maine after leaving Florida....
